About Kato:

Kate has been filming her family’s vacations for years. Each video was edited to music to create a memorable and often humorous DVD that always stole the show at family events. Even though her videos were popular and sought after, she didn’t consider a career in film until she graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Environmental Journalism. She was accepted into a prestigious film course in Costa Rica that ignited her passion for documentary film and travel. She moved to Australia and received her Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Tasmania. During her studies she helped host and produce a local radio show (Journalists on the Edge) and traveled to New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam (camera in hand of course!). Upon finishing her Masters degree she moved back to the U.S.A. and worked for a small television company in Aspen, Colorado before returning to Connecticut to start her own company specializing in videography.
